What Are the Tents in Mina Like?
Mina is often called the “city of tents.” During Hajj, millions of pilgrims stay here in rows of white, fire-resistant tents.
If you are going for Hajj for the first time, you may wonder what to expect inside.
What’s inside?
The tents are equipped with cooling systems to keep the air comfortable, although the heat and large number of pilgrims can still make it feel warm.
Each pilgrim is given a designated sleeping space, usually with a simple mattress, pillow, and sheet. The space is not very large, so you will need to adjust to living with less personal space than you are used to.
There are also electrical outlets in the tents, so you can charge your phone. A power bank can be very useful, especially when many people need to charge their devices at the same time.
The facilities may vary depending on your camp and service package, so it is best not to expect hotel-like comfort.
And honestly, that is part of the experience.
You may not have the comfort of your own bed or room, but you will be surrounded by millions of Muslims who have come for the same purpose: to worship Allah.
Mina may not offer luxury, but the experience can bring a kind of peace that luxury cannot.
You are there as a guest of Allah. And what greater honor could there be?
