Performing Umrah and Hajj in the same state of ihram by combining Umrah with Hajj is called Qiran Hajj. Qiran Hajj may be performed in two ways.

a) When entering ihram at the Miqat, make the intention for both Hajj and Umrah. Upon reaching Makkah, first perform Umrah and remain in Makkah in the state of ihram. When the time for Hajj arrives, proceed to Mina and Arafah in the same state of ihram and complete all the rites of Hajj.

b) Enter ihram at the Miqat with the intention of Umrah only. After reaching the sacred city of Makkah and before beginning the tawaf of Umrah, add the intention of Hajj to that of Umrah. After completing the tawaf and sa‘i of Umrah, remain in the state of ihram while awaiting Hajj, proceed to Mina in the same state of ihram on 8 Dhul-Hijjah, and complete the subsequent rites.
