Masjid Addas
Taif
A small mosque located in the city of Ta’if, associated with the name of Addas. In the tenth year of Prophethood, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to Ta’if to call its people to Islam, its leaders rejected his call, and he left the city wounded. Afterwards, while he was resting in an orchard, Addas, the servant of Utbah and Shaybah, brought him grapes. At one point during their conversation, Addas—who was a Christian from Nineveh—accepted Islam after hearing the Messenger of Allah ﷺ speak about Yunus (peace be upon him). The incident is a well-known part of the Sirah, but its connection to the present mosque is based on tradition; there is no definitive information regarding the exact location.
