Qarn al-Manazil (As-Sayl al-Kabir)
Taif
A valley located on the road to Taif, approximately seventy-five kilometres east of Makkah, now known as As-Sayl al-Kabir. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ designated this place as the miqat for the people of Najd—that is, Hajj or Umrah pilgrims coming from Najd and the east enter ihram from here. Travellers arriving by road from Riyadh and the Eastern Region generally use this miqat. As it is a mountainous area, it lies on the route descending from the upper part of Taif. There is now a large miqat mosque here, along with facilities for bathing, changing clothes, and resting. Nearby, there is another miqat point called Wadi Muharrim, which is used by travellers coming through Taif.
