These are as follows:
(1) Upon entering Mina, do nothing else before throwing the pebbles.
(2) Stop reciting the Talbiyah before beginning to throw the pebbles.
(3) Say “Allahu Akbar” while throwing each pebble. Throw with the right hand. Men should raise their hands while throwing. Women should not raise their hands.
(4) The pebbles should be approximately the size of slingshot pellets or slightly larger than chickpeas.
(5) On the first day, it is Sunnah to throw them after sunrise.
(6) The Sunnah manner of standing is to keep Makkah to the left and Mina to the right while facing the Jamarah. Then throw the pebbles. If it is extremely crowded, you may throw them while standing on any side.
(7) Throw one pebble after another; that is, do not take too much time between two pebbles.
(8) It is mustahabb for the pebbles to be pure. Even if they are impure, they may be used for throwing, but doing so will be makruh.
