All greetings are for Allah, as are all prayers and pure deeds. O Prophet! May peace, Allah’s mercy, and His blessings be upon you. May peace be upon us and upon Allah’s righteous servants. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I further bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is Allah’s servant and Messenger.

The supplication for the Istikharah prayer
O Allah! I seek goodness from You by Your knowledge. I seek strength from You by Your power, and I ask You of Your immense bounty. Indeed, You have power, while I have no power. You have knowledge, while I have no knowledge, and You are the All-Knower of the unseen. O Allah! If, according to Your knowledge, this matter (here one should mention in one’s mind the intended matter or affair) is good for me with regard to my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affair—or he said, for this world and the Hereafter—then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and then bless it for me. And if, according to Your knowledge, this matter is harmful to me with regard to my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affair—or he said, for this world and the Hereafter—then turn it away from me and turn me away from it. Decree for me whatever good there may be, wherever it may be, and then make me content with it.
