(1) The person performing the stoning by proxy must be a pilgrim performing Hajj in the same year.
(2) The person on whose behalf the stoning is performed must be unable to perform it himself.
(3) The pilgrim must first throw his own pebbles, and then throw the pebbles on behalf of the person who is unable to do so.
