Entering al-Masjid al-Haram

1 min readLast updated September 9, 2026

While reciting the Talbiyah, proceed towards the Sacred Ka‘bah. Enter Al-Masjid al-Haram through any door with your right foot, with humility and modesty, remembering Allah’s greatness and thanking Allah for granting you the ability to reach the House of Allah safely for Hajj. Upon entering, with an earnest plea that Allah open all the doors of His mercy, recite the following du‘a, which includes sending blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace:[1]

(A‘udhu billahil-‘Azim wa bi-wajhihil-Karim wa sultanihil-qadim minash-shaytanir-rajim. Bismillah, was-salatu was-salamu ‘ala Rasulillah. Allahummaghfir li dhunubi waftah li abwaba rahmatik.)

‘I seek refuge in Almighty Allah, in His noble Countenance, and in His eternal authority from the accursed Satan. I begin in the name of Allah. May blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. O Allah! Forgive my sins and open for me all the doors of Your mercy.’

[1]. This du‘a, along with other du‘as, has been narrated in various hadiths. The instruction to send blessings has also been mentioned. Al-Hakim: 1/325; Abu Dawud: 465.
