The errors and lapses commonly observed among pilgrims are as follows:
(1) Some people remain outside the boundaries of Arafah, even though boundary markers have been placed all around to demarcate Arafah. Doing so will invalidate the Hajj.
(2) Some pilgrims go to the mountain and crowd around it, touching its rocks and rubbing their bodies with them. These acts fall under shirk and bid‘ah.
(3) Some pilgrims waste valuable time in idle talk, gossip, and laughter, refraining from reciting supplications, thereby impairing their Hajj.
(4) Some people, while supplicating, face Jabal al-Rahmah instead of the qiblah. However, the Sunnah is to face the Ka‘bah when supplicating.
(5) Another major mistake is that some pilgrims leave the plain of Arafah before sunset. This is not permissible.
(6) Some pilgrims set out from Mina for Arafah before Fajr. The Sunnah is to set out after sunrise.
(7) If they do not join the congregation at Masjid Namirah, they do not combine Zuhr and Asr, but perform them separately at their respective times. This is also incorrect.
(8) Considering it impermissible to combine Zuhr and Asr at Arafah and shorten each to two rak‘ahs. This is a mistaken notion.
