When does the time for staying at Arafah begin, and when does it end?

The actual time for ‘Arafah begins after the sun passes the meridian in the afternoon. However, according to Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, it begins at dawn on the morning of that day. Its ending time is just before dawn on the night following the Day of ‘Arafah.
