1. Wasting time in pointless conversation. Sometimes such conversation descends into backbiting, offensive speech, and even obscenity. Yet the days of Mina are solely days for the remembrance of Allah Ta‘ala.
2. Among those who have not been able to secure a tent in Mina, some sit down on one of Mina’s roads. Then, as soon as midnight arrives, they return to their places of residence. Sometimes such conduct becomes a cause of hardship for themselves or for their families and children. Such conduct is not consistent with the principles of the Shari‘ah, because it causes hardship to oneself and also inconveniences others.
3. Some pilgrims go to Makkah to perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and make no effort to return at night. Undoubtedly, this is contrary to the prescribed rules.
4. Some pilgrims set out for Mina after completing Tawaf and Sa‘i, but due to severe traffic congestion at night, they are unable to reach Mina on time. In such circumstances, they should stop trying to travel from Makkah to Mina by vehicle and proceed on foot instead. If they are unable to do so because of weakness or difficulties involving their companions, they should nevertheless maintain the intention of spending the night there. If they still cannot reach Mina, then ‘Allah does not burden anyone beyond their capacity.’
